Steven Ashford grew up in the Garden of England, back when there was a bit more garden. He went to Bristol University, then Reading University, but didn’t learn a great deal at either of them. After that he spent probably a bit too long trying to write a doomed novel, whilst working at various jobs, most of them in hospitals.
Having finally completed his degree with the Open University, he embarked on a Steiner Waldorf Teaching BA. He taught in a Waldorf school in the Midlands for ten years.
